The Story Behind the Lens

Every photographer has a origin story — a moment when they realised that light, emotion, and a single frame could freeze time forever. This is mine.

From Darkrooms to Dream Weddings

"I still remember the first time I developed a roll of film in a darkroom. The image emerged slowly, like a memory surfacing from water, and I knew I was hooked."

My journey into photography began in a cramped university darkroom at eighteen, where I spent countless nights watching black-and-white prints materialize under amber light. What started as a fascination with the alchemy of film evolved into a deep appreciation for the art of capturing human connection.

After graduating with a degree in Fine Art Photography from the University of the Arts London, I spent five years assisting some of the UK's most respected wedding photographers. Those years taught me the technical precision required to work in unpredictable conditions — from the harsh midday sun of a Mediterranean terrace to the candlelit intimacy of a winter chapel.

In 2019, I launched Amélie Rose Photography with a simple mission: to create wedding images that feel as genuine and heartfelt as the love stories they document. Every wedding I photograph is a collaboration, built on trust and a shared vision of what makes a moment worth remembering.

Today, I'm based in London but travel throughout the UK and Europe, working with couples who value authenticity over perfection, and who want their wedding photographs to feel like a true reflection of who they are.

What I Believe In

These three principles guide every wedding I photograph, every image I deliver, and every relationship I build with my couples.

Authentic Emotion

I believe the most powerful photographs are the ones that capture real, unscripted moments — the tear in a father's eye, the spontaneous laughter between vows, the quiet embrace after the ceremony. My approach is unobtrusive, allowing your day to unfold naturally while I document the genuine emotions that make it uniquely yours.

Timeless Artistry

Trends come and go, but great photography endures. I strive for a style that feels both classic and contemporary — rich with natural light, soft textures, and a palette that ages like fine wine. Your grandchildren should look at these images and feel the same warmth you felt on your wedding day.

Thoughtful Connection

Your wedding photographer is by your side throughout one of the most intimate days of your life. I invest time in getting to know every couple before the big day — understanding your story, your style, and what matters most to you. This connection is what allows me to capture not just how you looked, but how you felt.

The Journey

From our first conversation to your beautifully curated gallery, here's what you can expect when we work together.

01

The Conversation

We start with a coffee (or a video call if you're farther afield). This is where we get to know each other — I'll learn about your wedding plans, your vision, and what matters most to you. It's also your chance to ask anything about my approach, style, and how I work. No pressure, no sales pitch — just an honest conversation.

02

Planning & Preparation

Once you've booked, I'll send you a comprehensive welcome guide filled with tips on timelines, lighting, and getting comfortable in front of the camera. We'll plan out your photography timeline together, identify key locations, and discuss any special moments you want captured. I also recommend an engagement shoot so we can practice before the big day.

03

The Wedding Day

On the day, I'll be there from the final touches of hair and makeup through to the last dance. I work quietly and intuitively — blending in seamlessly so you can focus on each other and your guests. My second photographer (included in all full-day packages) ensures no moment is missed from multiple angles.

04

Your Gallery

Within six weeks, you'll receive your beautifully curated online gallery — typically 600-800 meticulously edited images from a full-day wedding. Every image is individually colour-graded and retouched. You'll also have the option to order fine art prints and luxury albums through your private gallery, all printed on archival-quality paper.

Shall We Create Together?

If my story resonates with you and you'd like to explore working together, I'd love to hear from you. No obligation — just a warm conversation about your wedding and what matters most to you.
